Winter itinerary to be done by fat bike, to be done in #snow and only when Lake Resia is frozen. The most exciting part is in fact the passage over the frozen lake, depending on the conditions you need (or not) studded tires. To check if you can pass on the frozen lake, contact the Resia tourist board.

From the fishermen's houses you pass directly over the frozen Muta Lake. You then go up the bike path to Lake Resia and the dam. From here go up the forest road to Haideralm (Valentine's) marked as a footpath.

There must be snow conditions that are not fresh, but well groomed, to be able to ride the fat bike to the hut at the arrival of the lifts (refreshments). Ride back toward the lake on the same road on a fun descent. You take the bike path north, and at the height of the gondola departure you descend to the lake. Beware of the almost constant presence of cold north wind.

You pedal in the middle of the lake to the semi-submerged bell tower, arriving just below it. You then continue southward as far as ice conditions allow, the last section is in fact not usually walkable. From the dam you then descend back to Muta Lake and the parking lot.
