Passo dei contrabbandieri, Bozzi, Ercavallo, Passo delle Graole
The route includes a long section of walking, both pushing and biking. The start is from Ponte di Legno, with a cable car ride up to Tonale. You pedal in the direction of the Valbiolo chairlift, which takes you to 2250 elevation. Those who want to use the lifts check the opening period. There is a very hard section to push up to elevation 2570, followed by biking up to elevation 2680 of the Smugglers' Pass. The initial descent takes a couple of minutes on foot and then there is a long exposed but not dangerous traverse to the Bozzi Refuge.
From the Bozzi continue to the Ercavallo Lakes on a nice uphill but fairly rideable trail, with a few places to hike, in particular there are a couple of landslides to beware of. From Ercavallo Lake I advise against continuing on my trail but to descend to Case di Viso from a well-marked trail. Those who want to continue on my trail to Graole Pass, elevation 2810 meters, must put in at least an hour and a half of pushing bikes, with two more landslides to overcome that are very problematic and dangerous to bike over. Just before the pass, one climbs back into the saddle on a nice paved trail, which then one also finds oneself descending for a few hundred meters.
There is a very long descent down to Pezzo on a narrow path in the middle of grasslands, honestly I was hoping for better, quite disappointing. The last stretch back is on forestry.
