Description

Ascent with very little asphalt (only in the very first section). Fairytale environment with all the ingredients: greenery, small waterfalls, stream, picturesque villages, centuries-old beech trees, varied and breathtaking views, Great War emplacements. Descent almost all on beautiful and fun trails, technical but not too much. Recommended a full AM-Enduro. Departure from Molino di Bollone.

UP

At the Bollone-Capovalle-Magasa junction, we take on asphalt the direction Magasa, Cima Rest, Turano. At a junction with monument we turn left to Turano, Armo. At the next fork we turn right for Armo and after 3 km we reach the small picturesque village. We cross it passing under a face (fountain) taking a small natural-bottomed road that runs through a beautiful little valley with small waterfalls and stream. We arrive at Ponte Franato, pass under it and then without crossing it follow to De Nai. Passing some old and characteristic pannoni barns we pass the villages De Nai and Vott. the road becomes steeper and cemented until we reach a fork in the road at Pilaster m. 1300 (signpost). We keep to the left and continue climbing in the direction of Tombea. We ascend the Tombea mlitare road among ancient beech trees and, in the upper part, with sublime views. We reach Bocca Cablone m. 1755, keep right and continue uphill again, now less steep, to Malga Tombea. On the left we take the path that in 15 minutes "push" leads to the summit, m. 1950, where there is a circular building with panoramic signs. From here you can admire an extraordinary panorama, from Lake Garda to Adamello-Presanella, from Monte Rosa to the Brenta Dolomites.

DISCESA

The fun begins. We retrace the beautiful trail to the malga, then turn left. A little further on at a junction we turn right (straight ahead we would ascend to Caplone). The beautiful, technical, all bikeable Trail 66 begins and ends on a dirt-cemented road near Malga Casina m 1266. We follow the cemented road (marker 69), first downhill, then briefly uphill to Cima Rest, m 1200. At the junction with the paved road, we turn right and immediately, near the small church, left. Here we take off the protections, returning to ascent mode and follow a small dirt road reaching the beautiful Malga Corva hut, m 1270, which is worth a stop.

From the hut we start climbing again among beautiful old beech trees, along trail 63, following a small forest road. After a short downhill stretch, at the point where the small road turns slightly to the left, we keep to the right, taking the wide path that continues straight ahead (push section). We thus reach a saddle, lapping Cima Gusaur, m 1420. We return to descent mode, tackling the surprising and very fun trail 63 that runs along a beautiful ridge to Bocca alla Croce m 1153 (watch out for some challenging passages). Near the signs we turn left, still descending along 63 (the sign indicates 54). After passing a couple of hairpin bends we continue straight ahead, ignoring an unmarked path to the right. After a pleasant half-hill, at an obvious fork we abandon 63, turning sharply right descending steeply along 54. It is a beautiful technical path that is also very enjoyable and ends in the middle of a meadow between two old farmsteads. We descend keeping the farmsteads on our left, reaching the small natural-bottomed road that descends to Droane. At the post with signs, we ignore the sign with 54 indicating Dos di Sass Molino di Bollone (tried it is a ravine and not worth it) and follow the small road downhill reaching Droane. We continue downhill, at a first fork we turn right and at a left-hand hairpin bend, we take, turning sharply to the right, a nice path always downhill. Further on we come to another fork, keeping to the left, downhill, we would soon reach the bottom of Valle Droanello, the dirt road first and the asphalt road of Lake Valvestino later. Instead, keeping to the right, uphill, we continue on the beautiful trail that will take us directly back to Molino di Bollone. The trail is rather long and forces us to make several up and down halfway up the hill, but it is definitely worth the effort. Noteworthy is a vantage point with a breathtaking view of Lake Valvestino.
