Monte Luco da Merano

Very challenging and difficult itinerary, but very satisfying, both for the beautiful views and the fun trails.

From Merano you get to the Palade pass on asphalt road, you could also take detours on forest roads but it gets very long!

From the Palade pass you go up to the alpine hut Monte Luco on a forest road with some sharp climbs.

From the malga you have to put your mind at ease because there are 600 meters of altitude difference to do with the bike on your back, however always with beautiful views.

From the top at 2430 m, beautiful views of the surrounding alps!

Watch out now for the descent, very long, more than 2000 meters of elevation gain to Merano.

The first part is very challenging, with many sections where you will have to descend on foot. As you descend the pedaled sections increase but always be careful!

You pass by the Luco hut again and take the path to the Palade pass, also very challenging, with many roots and steps in the forest.

From the pass steep and stony but flowing cartroad to Tesimo, then down again to Lana and back to Merano.
