Vallelunga sulla neve

Beautiful winter fat bike route, well beaten waiting a few days after the last snowfall. Also doable in summer.

Start from the Caprone parking lot and continue on snowy groomed road. You pass through Melago, paying attention to a few sections on cross-country trail (do not pass with #soft snow, you will ruin the trail) and arrive at the Melago hut (refreshment). From here, if the snow is old and well groomed, you can follow a section of trail into the valley.

You descend to the left of the valley to the junction for the Atlantis hut. It climbs with hard sections to the sunny hut. You descend partly on ski slope, then on nice snowy forest road to the junction for trail 14. Go up along the road to the barn also used in winter by dog sled driverswith beautiful views. You descend on road and trail and then return to Caprone.

Finding the right snow conditions it is a very enjoyable route, given also the northern exposure that keeps the snow for a long time!
