Tour del Mortirolo
A beautiful ride in Val Camonica, more precisely on Mount Pagano, after riding the spectacular Mortirolo Pass. Having parked the car in Monno, a small village above Edolo, without time to warm up the leg, we take the asphalt road leading to the Mortirolo Pass. We will not take the main road, but an old mule track that is completely paved, but with high gradients, up to 20%. Almost at the top of the pass we rejoin the main road, then take the detour to Monte Pagano. We follow a gently sloping road inside a valley until we reach the path to Mt.
You have two choices to reach the top; either take the flat trail that goes around the mount and up from the back, which is more rideable, but the uphill section will be the same as the downhill, or as we did take the direct trail. It is about 200 meters of elevation gain for 1km where you will have to load your bike on your back and climb the mountain to the expected summit, there are no particularly complicated steps. After about 45 minutes, having arrived at the top of the mountain in an old fort, the long-awaited trail begins, which like all trails in Val Camonica never disappoints.
Initially a mule track, it then plunges into the woods in a beautiful flow, earthy bottom, clean, fast, technical passages, in short, a killer trail! Traveled the first section then alternates with the road next to it until we reach a dirt road that leads us to the starting village.
