Madonna del Cotolivier

From Oulx climb on asphalt to the hamlet of Pierremenaud (4.5 km) and then Vazon (7.5 km). Begin the wide dirt road to the top (12.2 km).

For the descent, take trail 716 from the little church to Vazon. It is beautiful in the first few meters, followed by a steep and very hollow, trialistic section to the uphill dirt road. A later, much more cyclable trail is taken to the left and a succession of cuts to Vazon, with a sometimes rocky, uneven bottom.

From Vazon you have to climb 300 linear meters up to the col and at the bend there is signage for hiking trail 715 to Chateau Beaulard; here the bottom is very flowing, only a few roots and some short but fierce uphill sections.

Interesting encounters in the first section leading to Villaretto: the Buchar chapel in memory of the partisan martyrs of Beaulard and Savoulx and the over 100-year-old linden tree of Oulx. For a km follow the dirt road, continue on marked trail in the woods and finally a short stretch in the meadow, trail 739. Finally cross-country track to the start.
