Croce dell'Uomo - Bisbino - Generoso
Very interesting tour, challenging in some sections, to devote almost a whole day to it, feasible with front xc, in my case rode with both front xc and trail bike with 120mm of travel (better). Departure from San Fermo della Battaglia, above Como, convenient because it is a short distance from the highway exit.
From the parking lot near the newsstand, after the Bennet, start following the trail and after a couple of km of asphalt you reach the path inside the Spina Verde park that will lead, after passing through a border gate, to Chiasso. You cross the customs to re-enter Italy, continue on asphalt towards Cernobbio but after a hundred meters you leave the main road and with a left turn you continue on asphalt for a few km then on a mule track towards Croce dell'Uomo, at the top at the end of the trail you will find wooden sculptures representing characters of the forest. During the first km of asphalt you will find a water point, near a village after a small chapel.
When you arrive at Croce dell'Uomo follow the track that will lead you via single track and after a few hundred meters on asphalt, keep right and continue after a while on a path, quite steep, towards the Bisbino, always keep right, do not be fooled by a path that goes straight ahead.
When you finish the path, which is quite long, about half an hour's walk and maybe more, you will find yourself on asphalt on the road leading from Cernobbio to Mount Bisbino, continue uphill for about a hundred meters and on the right you will find a path leading to the Bugone refuge, then to Murelli and lastly Prabello.
When you reach Prabello, just before the refuge, you have to take a path that goes left towards sasso Gordona, a few meters and immediately turn sharp right, away on a single track of ups and downs. At the end of this section you come out in a clearing, turn right on comfortable flat path initially and slight descent later; it leads towards a junction of paths near a gate, cross it and go down on gravel road towards Erbonne.
As soon as you meet the asphalt road, continue to the right and a little further on another path starts to the left of the asphalt road in the direction of Orimento, first part on a stony path, then a stretch of asphalt leading to a restaurant hut. Continue again on trail to a cross, then descend to the right still on trail and arrive in Orimento.
Take a breath and edible energy because the last stretch will be the one that takes you to Generoso, near the arrival of the little train. It is a path in some sections quite challenging however all cyclable, except the last piece where you have to push for about ten meters. From there it is downhill for the return, follow the track until you arrive, riding on paths at times asphalt, near a fountain with a wooden basin, where you will have to take a path with a barely visible entrance, on the left, where the path called "the plantations" starts, a very long single track that will take you to Casima. Then on asphalt, Monte, Obino, then left to Castel San Pietro and back to Chiasso.
From Chiasso back into Spina Verde Park to return to the starting point, always follow the trail.
P.s. If you want to avoid a few hundred meters uphill you can start directly from Chiasso where the Oval Center is.
