Colma di Craveggia
From the Prestinone parking lot, set off toward Craveggia, taking the dirt road that after several switchbacks leads to the Colma di Craveggia. A beautiful valley, open green and full of alpine pastures. The road is unpaved, a gippabile for use by the landowners and alpigiani. An extension has been built in the last 2 years that leads below the Cima di Trubbio at 1880 m and allows you to pass on the slopes of the Piana di Vigezzo. From Prestinone to the Colma di Craveggia is 11 km, with an average gradient of 11-14%. An elevation gain of 1100 mt D+. The descent to the Piana is on another well-maintained trail service road.
We went around the Plain, and found that another agro-pastoral gippable road leading to Toceno had been built, but it was still closed because it was not open and/or cleared for passage...we will do it next time. For the descent to Vocogna, we took the descent marked M27 used for ATVs, which runs parallel to DH Monte Nero. The trail has a very bumpy and rocky surface. Be careful at intersections with the DH trail because the Monte Nero has many exposed boulders, roots and jumps not suitable for bikes with little travel and especially for bikers without a handle....
