LAGO DELLA VACCA E PASSO FRERONE

Let's start this tour with a small and quick recommendation: the descent will be in the first part very technical and at times you will have to descend then from about 1,650 m the trail becomes very crisp and smooth. I thank Marco for fixing the track and making it usable for everyone.

Starting location is Breno (BS) (free parking in the fire station area exiting the ring road ) where we take the asphalt road climb that will take us to the Crocedomini pass passing through Astrio, Degna, Campolato and Bazena.

When we reach the Crocedomini pass ( 1,892 m ) we can refresh ourselves before continuing on to Goletto di Cadino (1,943 m ) and then shortly afterwards turn left onto a jungle road.

Now begins the off road section of the tour with spectacular scenery under the Corna Bianca passing by the white sands then reaching the Passo della Vacca ( 2,361 m ) with about 30 minutes of pushing bike ( with E-bike you pedal ). From the pass you will notice the famous natural monument of the Vacca and continue to Rifugio Tita Secchi ( 2,360 m ) that we will reach with a last up&down. In front of you the lake to admire and the beauty of our land dominated by the imposing Blumone.

Well now it's back to the Vacca pass and subsequently we take the detour to the Terre Fredde pass. At a certain point at an elevation of about 2,320 m we will have to deviate to the right indicating Monte Frerore. Last stretch of portage this time you shoulder for about 30 minutes in a firm and vertical manner. Keep up because once you reach Frerone Pass ( 2,444 m ) another beautiful scenery will appear before your eyes.

Rest because the exertions are not over yet.

The descent begins and up to about 1,650 m high it will be challenging and in some sections "trialistic" where to take aim with borderline passages. We pass the Gheza and Prandini hut.

At some point the sound becomes crisp and the satisfaction with the trail increases.

When we reach Case Scalassone we deviate to the left taking us on the low Adamello route and back down into the valley in that of Niardo. A few minutes and we will be at the starting point.

RECOMMENDED TOUR FOR ALL MOUNTAIN BIKES. For E-BIKE ALL MOUNTAIN I do not recommend it because of the vertical portage.
