Description
Very long and challenging itinerary, but also very scenic and fun.
From Merano you go up along the Val d'Ultimo to Pracupola, from here you go up again first on asphalt and then on dirt road in beautiful mountain environment to the beginning of the trail to the Tarres Pass. This is about 400 meters of elevation gain to be done by pushing; on an ebike about a third can be pedaled.
At the pass you descend on a nice trail to the Tarres hut, from here you can descend on the forest road or on the fun Barbarossa trail down to the valley.
Return to Merano on the Venosta valley bike path.
The tour can also be done in reverse, on the ebike you pedal perhaps a little more, but you need to have good technique to descend on the trail to the Val d'Ultimo.
