Cima di Lemma - Passo di Porcile
Very technical high altitude ride in spectacular surroundings, with two nice push and shoulder sections. Start in the pretty village of Valleve and on a quiet asphalt road (at 7 a.m.) up to San simone. The road is comfortable until the Scoiattolo hut. From here it begins to be steeper but still doable until the junction of the climb to Lemma Pass. From here begins a challenging climb on a mule track with a 10% gradient but complicated bottom, 70% rideable in emtb with the right technique.
Arriving at Lemma Pass, a glimpse of the beautiful panorama that awaits us on the next stage opens before us.
We descend a few meters and then continue into the valley until below the top of Lemma. On the meadow proceeding zig zag on indefinite track you reach the ridge and after short 10-meter shoulder climb you reach the summit (alternatively by mtb if you like to carry your bike on your back you can do the panoramic ridge). After the right moment of relaxation immersed in an exaggerated panorama we get ready for the S3 descent with S4 final that reaches the Tartano pass. Arriving at the next pass a very short S4 descent awaits us and we put away the desire to ride.
Up to the Porcile pass it's all pushing and even some shoulder riding, but the view helps us forget the fatigue.
From the pass a worrying panorama opens up for the descent (rockslides everywhere) the trail continues just below and is less worse than I thought, in fact.
The first 100 meters are not very rideable, then the sections with bike in hand diminish and the descent becomes interesting, a full S3 with a lot of S4 (and maybe S5) passages that gives no respite and makes the descent not very smooth but a nice challenge.
At the point where it becomes smoother there is no shortage of hairpin bends with boulders or rocks that increase the difficulty. Finalone in the woods with spectacular boulders and rocks and I arrive in Foppolo all gassed up!
Not present in the gpx: still having time I decided to go back up to the Dordona pass to take the spectacular technical descent(see trail) that goes up by comfortable road.
Return to Valleve by spectacular trail (unfortunately not always very clean) in the woods with technical passages less challenging than previous descents but still to be done carefully.
Considerations: the trail deserves to be tried at least once only for those who like very technical. And for those who are not afraid to push and carry their bikes. Without these skills it would be a big disappointment.
