Passo del Cirone CAI 128 da Rocca Sigillina
We close the circle on possible bike trails from the ridge of the Parma Apennines to the wild Lunigiana. Starting from Rocca Sigillina in Lunigiana, we reach Prati di Logarghena. Following this a quick and rapid descent leads us to the small village of Toplecca di Sopra. Via l Via Francigena we catch up with the road from Pontremoli up to the Cirone Pass. The all asphalt climb is very long but never takes on major gradients.
When we reach the pass we take a break at the little church of Madonna delll'Orsaro. We set off again along a short stretch of ridge to the CAI 128 junction. Initially the trail gains some more elevation, alternating between pedaling and pushing sections. Even when the downhill part begins, the trail maintains a certain discontinuity until the junction with CAI 130, which leads up Braiola. From here on finally the descent will be continuous until the end, unfortunately the path widens a lot becoming a driveway with a very bumpy bottom and losing some charm.
At an altitude of 1100 we abandon the Cai 128, which would lead back to the meadows of Logarghena passing by the Enrico Mattei bivouac, and continue on the Via dei Lombardi and once again recovered the dirt road made in the morning uphill we follow it in the opposite direction until Rocca Sigillina where we finish the tour with a passage inside the characteristic village.
Overall a nice all mountain ride but with a less than thrilling descent.
