Crinale Compione Guadine e CAI 120

We were in search of the Holy Grail of the Lunigiana wilderness but ran into a ride that tested our physical and mental resources. Fortunately, I because of my knee and My partner because of fatigue, we stimulated each other and managed to finish a really tough ride.

Intent on trying to descend from the Passo delle Guadine we saddled up to the Capanne Tornini on a nice climb at times very scenic, then a nice shoulder up to the Compione Pass passing through the Lausanne meadows. Once on the ridge we rode it to the Guadine but aimé the pedaled sections could be counted on the fingers of one hand, the only noteworthy section being the non-integral descent from Brusà to the Guadine. We touched the peaks of the Nuda di Ieri, the Sillara, the Paitino, the Matto and finally the Brusà.

The much coveted trail, CAI 120, unfortunately in the upper part does not lend itself much to being pedaled although in the fall or spring season when the paleo does not cover the slender track something more can be done, continuing however there are several exposures and relaunches that force the continuation on foot with bike downstream. The discourse changes just before arriving below Mount Federici where one can finally continue in the saddle almost uninterrupted until Vico, although it must be said that the trail is very technical and classified S4.

In conclusion, I do not recommend tackling such a trail unless you are a person who loves the cycle mountaineering genre, which in this case I would also call "Cycling Alps" and is contemptuous of fatigue. Superlative scenery.
