Alpe di Succiso

To the conquest of Alpe di Succiso and Monte Cassarola, passing through the headwaters of the Secchia and the Pietra Tagliata pass. This tour while having a modest elevation gain is suitable only for mountain experts and people trained and used to carrying bikes on their backs. At the Pietra Tagliata pass one must bypass the ferrata via a short but exposed section on the side of the Secchia Springs Valley where there is a safety cable for the entire section. The descent from the summit to Mount Cassarola is cyclable only in some sections. From the latter peak, on the other hand, having passed a drop of about ten meters, you mount the saddle to descend to the valley via paths 667 669 and 651, all completely cyclable and fun, once on the road you return to Cerreto Alpi on comfortable asphalt.

Leaving Cerreto Alpi we reach Lake Pranda skirting the shore we continue until we reach Passo del Cerreto crossing the state road 63. We cross the road and enter the 00 that leads to Passo dell'Ospedalaccio where we continue on the Cai 677/675, combination that leads to the sources of the Secchia. From the springs begins a grueling section with bike on the shoulder that leads to the Pietra tagliata Pass. From the latter we bypass the Ferrata gtratto and via Cai 671 reach the summit of Alpe di Succiso with no small effort. The descent contrary to what I had read is not entirely rideable at least as far as the Cassarola below, but the view is truly spectacular. From the Cassarola the music changes and after overcoming a drop of a couple of meters we begin a long and fun descent combining Cai trails 667, 669 and 651.
