Barzio Ombrega
It starts from the square of the Comunità Montana in the locality of Pratobuscante in Barzio with arrival at Rifugio Ombrega. Departure is along the Valsassina bike path to the industrial area of Taceno, near the paraglider landing zone, where you move onto the provincial road. You ride up to Crandola where the agrosilvopastoral road to Pian delle Betulle starts at the end of the village, and up to above alpe Piazza the gradients are moderate and the road well rideable.
Just above alpe Piazza you take the detour to alpe Ortighera on a new dirt road that is a bit bumpy but well rideable, this one with somewhat more challenging inclines. At Alpe Ortighera you join the road coming from Pian delle Betulle and continue to the locality Lares Brusà admiring a spectacular view over the whole valley. From here you take the top of the hill and descend again on a dirt road to the Rifugio Ombrega.
You return always on the same road to Alpe Ortighera and from here continue on the main road to Pian delle Betulle and then to Alpe di Paglio. From here on asphalt you return to the provincial road and then descend again to Taceno and take the bike path back to Barzio. Obviously the route can be shortened by starting from any point in the Valsassina.
