Passo di Vermolera
Totalitarian All Mountain tour, encompassing all the fundamental aspects of this discipline, taken to extremes in part.
You start from Fusino (1180 meters) and on asphalt you ride 7 kilometers for 500 meters of elevation gain until you arrive just before Eita, here you turn left onto a typical mountain dirt road that is cemented in places, where logically cement stands for steep, and quite steep.
You reach the Vermolera plain (1940 meters), here begins a long stretch of backpacking bike to get to the Laghetti di Très (2200 mt), the section near the lakes is rideable, but it is only a few hundred meters and then you start carrying again, you pass by the Lake of Venus, then you have to face a very steep gully on loose and unstable ground, there are however no equipped passages, you then continue also on a stretch of scree (about two hundred meters) and finally arrive at the Vermolera Pass (2732 mt). Enjoy the spectacle and rest in anticipation of the descent, which will be with your feet on the pedals for about 98 percent.
The first section is very technical, but these are just a few steps, then the trail becomes technical but very enjoyable and fun, you will then arrive on iconic meadows just above Pian del Lago, which you will have to freeride to get to the trail that through a fantastic traverse will take you below the Strambini bivouac, you can see it even from a distance because it is colored orange and stands out even if small and in the distance. This section is a very enjoyable up and down consisting of some large stone segments. Crossing the Roasco stream the trail becomes a stratospheric flow to the Cascina Toni farmhouse.
When you reach Malghera as soon as you get to the asphalt, deviate to the right on a steep path but which soon becomes a fantastic traverse immersed in the pine forest, you will then reach the locality Gras di Pedruna, proceed always at altitude until Alpe Guinzana. You begin to descend on steep concrete and shortly after take the dirt road to the left that will take you to the bottom of the valley, cross the Roasco again and take the paved road that will quickly take you back to Fusino.
In conclusion tour that spreads over 40 km and with an elevation gain of 1700 meters of which many done by bike on your back, surrounded however by fantastic alpine scenery and still little frequented by the great masses, arrived at the car you will be tired but with a huge smile on your face.
