Attorno al Sassolungo e Sassopiatto, forcella Terrarossa senso antiorario

Beautiful counterclockwise loop around Sassolungo and Sassopiatto, then climb to the Terrarossa pass at 2500 m elevation. The correct departure is from Campitello di Fassa to Canazei and climb on asphalt to the scenic Sella Pass. Follow the City of Stones dirt road to the rigugio Comici, short descent then ascent to Piz Seura on dirt road. Descent then flat section, after gate climb left on steep dirt road to Sassopiatto hut with very steep final section.

Now spectacular ridge between Val Duron and Alpe di Siusi on trail. At the pass go up on steep dirt road to the Tires hut and the Terrarossa fork with spectacular views. Very long descent on dirt road from Val Duron. Tour technically easy, a bit more challenging the ridge trail. Starting from Campitello saves 100 mt of elevation gain and 15 km.
