Freeride Cimbergo

In this special tour we are in the land of trails, Valcamonica, more precisely in Cimbergo.

In this small town a group of bikers have built and maintained several trails of different difficulties: green, yellow, orange, red and black; from the easiest to the most extreme.

On this tour we are going to tackle the yellow and orange trail, sure to return there to tackle something more challenging.

Some technical data: distance: 24km - time on the move: 3.00 hours - total elevation gain: 1380m - maximum elevation: 1560m - cyclability: 100% - suitable for MTB AM/ENDURO.

The only flaw in the itinerary is the equal climb that we will repeat both times.

We start below the Castle of Cimbergo under Pizzo Badile and in front of Concarena, in a fabulous location.

We climb first on asphalt with good gradients and then switch to dirt road, more challenging but completely doable.

Passing the bridge we arrive at a small and beautiful village, where a few hundred meters further on we will reach the beautiful De Marie al Volano refuge at an altitude of 1,428 m where we can refresh ourselves before continuing.

There are about 100 more meters of elevation gain to reach the starting point of the various trails; always on dirt/gravel with not bad gradients!

In our trail we are going to ride first the yellow trail and then the orange trail.

In our opinion of the two the best is the yellow one, much faster and more fun.

The first one will be completely undergrown, with beautiful vertical passages and very very flow; a really crisp trail!

The second one, the orange, still undergrowth, with a few streams to climb over, a bit more split than the first one, but slower to lose altitude.

Both trails will take you into the town of Cimbergo with a smile on your face, happy to retrace the climb again to reach a new trail all to enjoy!
