Monte Orsaro
We return to the 100 Lakes Park for a very challenging ride suitable only for those who enjoy the cycle-mountaineering genre.
From Ponte del Cogno we start climbing until we reach Lagadei to continue on Cai 725 to Prato della Valle where we leave it in favor of the 723 to Ponte Rotto. From here on, the most challenging part of the tour begins with a practically continuous bike backpacking section to the summit of Monte Orsaro.
Before tackling the last and most challenging section we take a break at the Braiola Hut where we take the opportunity to eat and have a nice bite of raspberries. We resume the ascent to the summit passing through the Bocchetta dell'Orsaro where we face the most difficult and tiring section, very steep slippery and exposed in places. The descent from the summit is practically all doable except for a few passages at the top. Arriving at the mouth of the Fosco we take our bikes back on our shoulders to reach the summit of the Fosco. Very enjoyable also this descent not particularly technical but very steep with some counter slopes.
As we descend to Bocchetta del Tavola we have to vary the tour because of a landslide on the 725 in the direction of Ronchi di Luciano, so we follow the same downhill until we recover the 723 previously done that we will follow again until Ponte Rotto and then continue to Lago Santo. From the Lake we descend by the Carbonaie path and having recovered the road towards the Lagoni we follow it for about 2.5 km to then take the Parmetta, path downhill in a beautiful forest of firs and large boulders very suggestive.
The path ends near the stream and without crossing it we follow a cart road that joins Cai 721 and takes us back to Ponte del Cogno.
