Description
Very challenging route, but also very enjoyable and very scenic.
From Merano you arrive in Bolzano along the bike path or, alternatively, by train. From Bolzano begins a very challenging climb, paved but very steep, ideal for those using e-bikes.
Past the village of San Genesio, a beautiful forest road begins and then an elevated trail up to the stone cairns at 2000 meters, with fabulous views of the Alps and the Dolomites. From here you descend on the beautiful Trail 2 to Merano. Depending on snow conditions, the route is also doable in winter.
