Description
Very challenging but very scenic and fun route, ideal for summer and fall, but if you find ideal snow conditions in winter, with old, well groomed snow, it becomes even more beautiful. Ideal to do by ebike, possibly with fat or generously sized tires, as the first ascent from Bolzano is very steep.
From San Genesio you always follow the European E5 trail to Merano 2000, with some pushing depending on snow conditions and fantastic section around the little stone cairns.
From Merano 2000 very long and beautiful descent, first on snow and then trail to Merano. Return to Bolzano by rail or, if you still have strength, by bike path
