Lago della Vacca
With this new trail we return to the beautiful Val Camonica in the Adamello National Park; more specifically we climb to the Crocedomini Pass and then reach Lago della Vacca and the nearby Tita Secchi refuge.
As always, some technical data to start: route: 28 km - ride time: 3.20 hours - total altitude: 1330 m - maximum altitude: 2330 m - rideability: 95% - suitable for MTB XC/AM.
After parking the car in Val Dorizzo, we immediately prepare for the climb, because on this tour there is no time to warm up the legs.
We follow the winding asphalt road to Crocedomini Pass, but before we get there we turn right onto a dirt road that offers breathtaking views!
A dirt road that gets narrower and steeper as we climb; we cross stretches of white sand, stretches with big climbs, but the best is yet to come!
The last two hundred meters of elevation gain will put you to the test: a paved road with steep climbs, at the limit for a muscle bike; with an e-bike you will make it without too many problems, with a muscle bike it will be quite a challenge, but at least give it a try, you will take home a great satisfaction!
Once you leave the big crevasses behind, you reach Cow Lake in less than 10 minutes.
If you now think it's all downhill from here on without tiring, forget it!
After about 1 km of descent, take the trail to the right; now there are descents, climbs, pushes and fun sections to let off steam on; first you reach Val Fredda Pass, then the beautiful Wilmer Ridges.
Here the real descent begins, where we lose several meters of elevation in a short time and plummet down a winding trail to the Crocedomini hut; we must be very careful because some sections are very steep and require technical skill.
Behind the refuge we take the last path, which is flat at first and then becomes a bit more technical until it turns into a dirt road about 3 km long that leads directly to the car.
