Vesio - Bocca di Fobia - passo Nota - monte Bestone
A tour in true Garda style, around Monte Zenone and Corna Vecchia. We start at the Vesio parking lot and head toward the San Michele valley. Just before reaching the valley, we turn left and immediately leave the road behind, taking a path that runs parallel to the road. Then, near a storage shed, a narrow trail begins—rideable enough—until it intersects with the dirt mule track coming from the right. We continue on to La Cocca and then further down past Cima Mughera and Monte Zenone to Bocca di Nansesa. Be careful on this section because it’s exposed; there are several landslide-prone areas where you’ll need to get off your bike. From Bocca di Nansesa, we’ll now head to Bocca di Fobia via a final uphill stretch (a few minutes of pushing) where Trail No. 178 begins; amid loose soil, roots, and rocks, it will lead us to Le Acque. We now head back up toward Passo Nota and the adjacent mountain hut (check if it’s open during the off-season). From Passo Nota, we’ll have another uphill stretch, this time on a military dirt road, passing beneath Corna Vecchia. Be careful: at a certain point, at about 1,260 m elevation, we’ll need to veer left for a very short push. We’ll arrive at a scenic overlook with a wonderful view of Lake Garda, and right below you, we’ll join Trail No. 102 toward the Singol Valley. It will be a beautiful but challenging trail with a gravelly section below Cima dei Sospiri where you must be very careful. Once past this section, the trail widens and takes us beneath Monte Bestone. We turn right and, in total relaxation, return to the starting point. I do not recommend doing this tour on rainy days.
