Santa Caterina, Rifugio Forni and Ables huts

The ascent for the first part is on asphalt and you follow the silvoagropastoral road to the Forni refuge. When you arrive at the refuge, continue on the path leading to the Pizzini-Frattola refuge, the first part of the trail has a fairly significant slope then flattens out slightly until you reach the junction with signs for Lake Manzina Baite Ables. The first section is a false flat the bottom very good and you can push well, you get to the point where a nice ramp leads to the junction for Lake Manzina, you follow instead for Baite Ables. From here the very nice and scenic trail is all downhill to the huts. Here you can opt for two trails, the one I did and poì there is a gippable road that I do not recommend given the comings and goings of vehicles.

The trail very nice even when entering the woods very fast and the bottom very good with few stones. In the summer months watch out for hikers.
