Dal lago Brasimone alla Croce di Geppe
The first part of the route has been revised to reach Monte della Scoperta, where the day’s first descent begins on Trail RM2—a very fun, flowing ride with a few natural drops that ends at Fontana del Boia. Next, we head back up the ridge along a beautiful forest road until we reach Croce di Geppe, passing by the La Succhiata farmhouse. From the Cross, you can admire a beautiful panorama stretching from the surrounding valley to the Apennines and the nearby Acquerino.
From here, we set off on the second and most challenging descent until we reach the village of Chiapporato, where, welcomed by the local association of the same name, we enjoy a hearty meal of polenta with ragù and Friggione. Once we set off again, a couple of tough climbs await us right away, even before tackling the day’s toughest ascent, which takes us back up to an altitude of around 1,000 meters. We then tackle the beautiful but, alas, all too short descent that ends at Barbamozza, a sort of very fun rocky toboggan run. We conclude the tour by returning to the starting point along the shores of the lake.
