Monte Magno Fratta
A short ride with two climbs and, of course, two descents, the first of which is tough (for my abilities) and the second pure fun, all winding through the middle of Valle Sabbia (BS).
It starts from Sabbio Chiese at the end of the industrial area and continues on a slight incline for about 3 km to Fratta. From here, the real climb begins, which will be the same for both trails for the most part. You now cycle with some effort along cemented sections, then at an old barn, the going gets even tougher and you need a good push until just before Magno. Here, turn right onto a short stretch of asphalt road to the Il Cacciatore restaurant, then right again and the scenic and challenging 506 begins, taking you back to Fratta with truly exciting passages in a setting that could not be wilder.
Now we climb back up with a short detour to change the view, but the first section is more challenging and soon rejoins the previous one. Back in Magno, this time we turn left and then right towards Selva Piana and, after about 150 meters of elevation gain, right on a sharp right-hand bend, the second descent begins. We enjoy the descent to the junction with trail 504 and, after a short push, we reach a hunting post, which is the start of the Andrea trail. We pass another post on Monte Acuto, then enjoy a fun descent that is challenging enough without ever becoming nasty, to the hamlet of Fontanelle.
Here we turn left and climb a concrete path for 70 meters of elevation gain to enjoy the icing on the cake, a fun trail that takes us directly to the cycle path that runs alongside the Chiese River, and from there to the car in no time. I repeat, the length and elevation gain are modest, but the fun is at its maximum!
