Lago di Pietra Quadra
Partly cycle-mountaineering tour, with some pushing sections but very beautiful views. And possible variant that greatly reduces the pushing sections. From asphalt climb on comfortable asphalt to Roncobello, then always on lightly trafficked asphalt to Mezzeno huts. You push with emtb or shoulder with mtb for 80 meters. After that begins a nice fun traverse with little pedalable slope by emtb that climbs towards the Roccoli.
At the end of the trail, a beautiful plain opens up that you would not expect to find.
The proposed trail goes up to Pietra Quadra Lake, then around the three laces, but you can also walk up to return to the junction and continue directly to Roccolo del Verroppio (see other trail).
You push the bike for the last 200 meters to the beautiful Pietra Quadra pond, which will seem to you to be embedded in the mountain.
As I said, the trail goes around the three Pizzi, a route I was not crazy about, (too many pushing or too technical sections). Arriving at Roccolo del Verroppio the fun begins, first part with short technical vertical sections that will entertain the most skilled. Then it continues with a beautiful descent all in the woods, guided, technical, fast, vertical etc. Pure spectacle.
The trail continues to Porta delle Cornacchie, beautiful place with monoliths overlooking the valley below that definitely deserve the stage. It closes the tour with a beautiful descent that ends in Isola di Fondra.
