Colle di Becca Piana e Bivacco Gontier dalla Valsavara, discesa in Val di Cogne
È possible to leave from Aymavilles if you want to pedal a bit or (as we did) with two cars, leave one in Aymavilles and with the other car go up to Fenille in Valsavara, from here starts the trail that in 2,2 km sincere and with a section of fixed ropes makes us gain the first 1,000 meters of elevation gain, short break at the Arolla PNGP hut, then it's off for the mega traverse, mega exposed that leads to the Becca Piana pass with a couple of short climbs, otherwise well cyclable as long as you don't suffer from the exposure.
From the col, epic descent in moquetted larch woods to the PNGP Chantel Casotto, here begins a section of Habsburg portage that will slowly take us to the Gontier bivouac at 2300 meters altitude with a spatial view of the Grivola.
Here the fun begins, <DISCESA=ON> and we start down towards the Val di Cogne, trail 5, always very technical, constant S3 with S4 passages, endless succession of tight switchbacks and moquettati flow sections to make the small larch trees vibrate as if they were the flags of the super G, always beautiful and cyclable except for a couple of passages where objectively you can't pass. Watch out for the always nice spun canals and in a short time we are in Vieyes, from here we came down to fire on the asphalt because it was late but you can still take the path that from Pont D'Ael crossing some tunnels takes us on memorable single track to the car in Aymavilles.
