Triangolo Lariano Trails

Interesting and scenic itinerary in the heart of the Larian Triangle. Start from Asso and reach the Colma di Sormano, almost completely avoiding the busy provincial road to Magreglio (sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo). In some sections of the climb the gradient approaches 20 percent but overall it is all well pedaled and never boring. From the Colma di Sormano starts the classic traverse to Monte San Primo, which is left at a hairpin bend between Alpe Spessola and Alpe di Terra Biotta. From here, an interesting trail with S2 technical difficulty and S3 passages crosses a forest, passes by the source of the Lambro, and takes us back to Magreglio. A must stop at the Madonna del Ghisallo shrine and we resume the tour that is far from over. We climb to the Caval di Barni locality, first by gippabile and then asphalt, and from here starts a beautiful trail (mostly flow) that ends in Maisano (hamlet of Valbrona). The return to Asso is on a quiet, defatiguing valley floor bike path.
