LAGO DELLA VACCA E LE CRESTE DI WILMER
Back into Valcamonica, the land of signs, to climb to Passo e Lago della Vacca then the Rifugio Tita Secchi where we can stop and admire the view. Then we move on to tackle the beautiful Creste di Wilmer then swoop down to the Crocedomini Pass and Val Sanuinera. A breathtaking tour not to be missed.
We park the car in Val Dorizzo ( 1,180 m ) near the Remal campsite. We immediately ascend in the direction of the Crocedomini Pass on an asphalt road. We pass Gaver then once we reach Goletto di Gaver ( 1,795 m ) we turn right on a mule track road. An apocalyptic scenery will open before us with the Corna Bianca and the whole valley of alpine pastures. We pedal steadily until below the Corna Bianca where there will be the section of shifting white sands and then immediately after a hard section. We still continue in the direction of the pavement with a last piece of about 20/25 minutes to push ( with the Ebike we pedal ). When we reach an elevation of 2,300 m we deviate to the right and notice the natural monument of the Cow. From here, after the ritual photo, we continue to the Tita Secchi refuge and the Vacca Lake 2,340 m. The time comes for a well-deserved rest before heading back toward the Vacca then taking the trail that veers to the right of theAlta Via dell'Adamello. This will be a rock n' roll section with up&down rideable 95% with a final 5/10 minute push to reach the Val Fredda Pass ( 2,338 m ). Now put on your pads because there will be a first section of crunchy descent and a traverse to follow made of loose but also firm rock until 2,160 m where, below Mt. Mattoni, we deviate to the left and there will be a trail where to be careful. Past this piece slight descent to a final push to gain the beautiful Creste di Wilmer ( Monte Bazena 2,109 m ). Let's now be very careful because it will be a nosedive towards the Crocedomini vertical with a couple of sections where we have to descend to reach the Rifugio Passo di Crocedomini 1,880 m, where Andy Moscardi will be happy to give you a warm greeting. This is it. Ascent over. We prepare again for the final descent that we will take right behind the hut to discover Val Sanguinera ( N.424 ). It immediately flows into the valley and then becomes rock n' roll with some crisp passages and a wet section to Malga Sanguinera ( 1,540 m ). From this point we will have a highway in front of us, bumpy and fast but with no particular problems that will quickly take us back to Val Dorizzo. I strongly recommend not doing the tour in case of rain.
