Felciana - Cantagallo - Cavallaie

The route starts from the square of Montale, we ride about 5km of secondary roads and dirt roads until the beginning of the climb in the Felciana area that will be all on dirt road. After almost 10km of ascent we reach the asphalt and take the road that takes us to La Cascina (where we can fill our water bottles), then we enter the Acquerino/Cantagallo Park, the wide forest road crosses the forest with more or less slight ups and downs, and we arrive at the Cavallaie pass.

We continue always on the forest road that becomes a path after a short while. The tour so far has not presented any particular technical difficulty; at km 38.4 it is possible to leave the track and turn left onto the forestry road that descends with a few wide hairpin bends until we reach the asphalt road that takes us back to the valley. Continuing instead on the track we go to face a series of enduristic trails, Botox+Paline very smooth and driven in the initial part and then rocky in the second and then the Pine that brings us back to the plain. These are not very difficult or dangerous trails, but they do require a minimum of technique, while the first part of the ride is very touristy and affordable.

We then skirt the lake, cross a small ford and after a couple of kilometers return to the asphalt and the bike path that will take us to the end of the route. In case of heavy rains in the previous days, the ford may not be practicable (at least without getting wet up to the knee) and fifteen you can return to the dirt road that runs along the lake and follow it, then reconnecting with the trail further on.
