Crinale val Boreca senso antiorario
Spectacular counterclockwise tour of the Boreca Valley ridges, if done in late May you can admire the daffodil blooms at Piani della Cavalla. Most of the elevation gain is done at the beginning in the endless climb to Capanne di Cosola.
Start at Ponte Organasco, descent and asphalt climb to Lama where you go left on dirt road downhill to stream, ford then hard dirt climb to Ponti. Now asphalt always uphill to Lesima plans, then climb on dirt road to Colla pass. Continue uphill on asphalt to road leading to summit of Mt. Lesima, then slight descent to Giovà pass.
Climb to Capanne di Cosola then left asphalt until almost Bogli on slight descent. Now steep dirt section to saddle below Mt. Legnà, now climb on CAI trail to Mt. Carmo, a few pushy switchbacks but no problem. Now nasty descent to Casa del Romano, nasty because it is always muddy, soft bottom ruined by cows' hooves, we make do a bit by passing to the sides. Short ascent to admire the telescope and the beautiful view.
Now down to Piani della Cavalla, dirt road with steep ups and downs of which 1 deadly. Beautiful large meadow, climb up to Cavalla Mountain.
You cross all meadows and descend to Fontanarossa, a few little paths cutting the road then long asphalt to the start.
Water at Ponti, Capanne di Cosola, at Monte Carmo and Fontanarossa. At all you pass each other.
