Monte Bronzone e la sua campana
We begin this spectacular, yet difficult tour that will take us to the summit of Mount Bronzone.
Our tour started from Clusane di Iseo to allow us to warm up our legs, but you could easily start from Villongo and that would take off about fifteen kilometers.The tour is by no means easy, once you attack the uphill trail, get it into your head that all the way to the top of Mount Bronzone it never lets up and I say this sincerely NEVER EVER lets up, the climbs never go below 15% and there are even peaks of 22%, so be prepared to face at least, if not a little more, twenty km of challenging climbs.
Once you reach the Alpini hut you can opt for two solutions:
1 you carry your bike on your back all the way to the top of Bronzone, but on the descent you can take advantage of some fun, rideable sections;
2 you tie your bike to the refuge and hike to the top of Mt.
Either way, back at the refuge, the descent begins. The first section is not very rideable, the path ahead is very treacherous and there are insurmountable boulders unless you push the bike, so you'll find yourself riding a few hundred meters and then descending (we hiked the trail in wet terrain, from dry it could change everything).
All of a different kind is the second part of the descent, you plunge into a splendid wild singletrack in the middle of the woods, all in the saddle, shock absorbers open and you descend like there is no tomorrow, in fact it is a sufficiently technical path but at the same time very flowing and smooth. At the end of it all you climb back up, but don't give up, it's just the last few scrambles that will take you around the mountain and then head to Lake Iseo (of departure), and then to the car.
