Rather long and strenuous route, with a very long ascent, but also scenic and with a nice descent to the Adige valley.
From Merano you go up to the Ulten valley and then up again to the Plazzoles pass on a forest road. From here you descend to Lana on various trails and then back to Merano. Best done not before May when the snow has melted
