Corona dei Pinci

Nice route above Ascona. I recommend parking along the Maggia River and then heading toward Losone and Monte Verità, from where the paved and rather steep climb starts that takes us high above Lake Maggiore, with beautiful views.

When you almost reach the top the trail takes you onto a path where you have to push a few minutes, the slightly longer but all rideable alternative is to continue on the road and then turn right to rejoin the trail.

Enjoy the view and then begin a spectacular traverse before beginning the actual descent.

This one is very varied, with flowing, technical sections and tight, rocky switchbacks. There is something for everyone.

Since it is completely north-facing, watch for snow until late spring.

You come out in Arcegno on the paved road, which you follow back to the parking lot.
