Cima Stronzi, monte Groppi e Cresta Incisa
We set out from Deiva to reach Mount San Nicolao by the beautiful trail that passes by Cima Stronzi and leads to Vallico di Mola. Having done this in the past we decide to add as an out-of-schedule the ridge of Mount Groppi that looks interesting and very scenic.
Arriving at the Stronzi saddle before climbing Mount Groppi we make a detour to the summit of the same name although we could have reached it more simply by bike, but unfortunately we missed the junction. Back to the saddle with a short bike ride we reach the ridge which contrary to what I thought is totally rideable up to the summit marked by the classic IGM point.
The descent is really fun with difficult but not impossible passages and on some of them we pause to clean up and tackle them. The ridge rejoins the path below at the height of Pietra Spaccata, another beautiful and very suggestive passage where we do not fail to linger for photos and videos.
Up to the Mola pass the music does not change, the path becomes easier to the eye but more difficult because of the uneven bottom composed of large pebbles. Through CAI trails 419 and 417 we recover the Aurelia again at Ca Marcone. From here the options are different but we choose to finish the tour with the ridge of Mount Incisa not particularly scenic but certainly the one that best suits our preferences.
The ridge is a succession of relaunches and descents with a few pushing sections until the altitude of Mt. Crocetta where the pure fun begins. The trail becomes very steep and typical of the Ligurian coast with enjoyable passages and becomes really beautiful in the final part with the Panoramica variant, with adrenaline-pumping but also exposed passages.
Very steep finish on the road back to Deiva that I had walked before and remembered definitely put much better and more natural.
Beautiful day with two really top trails, ended on a high note with a very good burger at Circolo di Deiva.
