Santa Barbara Pass
Tour done in winter, great in wet weather because you pass mostly on dirt roads with a rocky but hard surface.
Start from Perino counterclockwise, climb in the pine forest of Mount Armelio, after Boioli paved section until after Gavi, at the pine forest of Sant'Agostino steep section on dirt road then beautiful path until the church.
Short descent then dirt road uphill to Santa Barbara pass commonly called Angelone for the large statue depicting a warrior angel.
Now start to descend to the beautiful Aglio plains, just before there is an always wet section that you skirt passing through the pine forest next to the dirt road.
Challenging stony descent to Aglio, short ascent then long descent to the Cai trail of the Maramotti refuge, descent that continues to the Perino stream, still on dirt road.
Short ascent and, at the cemetery, go right on the nice dirt road, short crossing in the creek in front of the climbing wall, and you are at the start.
Very nice tour that is done year-round, water at Gavi and Aglio fountain, you pass by it.
