Via Appia Antica da Ciampino a Roma

Beautiful historic route from Ciampino to the Colosseum along the most characteristic stretch of the Via Appia Antica, pedaling on ancient paving stones more than 2,000 years old. We start and return to Ciampino, where there is a small private camper area in Via Cuneo.

Along the Via Appia we encounter mausoleums, statues, cemeteries and many other Roman remains, and almost without noticing, still in the green and under large maritime pines, we arrive in the center of Rome at the Colosseum.

The pavement is in some places rather bumpy, but in many cases you can pedal more easily on the sides of the road.
