Furka Trail
Departing from Realp, climb up to the Furka pass on asphalt. At the pass we turn left onto a magnificent dirt road that first climbs and then stays on the coast for several kilometers in a fantastic setting, with views of the surrounding glaciers.
After a while it becomes a path specially put in place for mountain bikes, with a striking passage through two tunnels.
We continue to follow it more or less level, before arriving at the beginning of the descent, exactly in front of the mythical Rhone Glacier. The photo is customary.
Now the descent begins, also prepared for mountain bikes and very flowy. The difficulty level is S1, I would call it suitable for everyone, also because there are no exposed points.
It is very long and takes us to a dirt road, which we follow for quite a long time, before resuming the trail, this time in the middle of the forest and a bit more challenging, with some easily surmountable S2 passages. We thus arrive in Oberwald, where we take the train through the Furka basistunnel and in 20 minutes return to Realp.
