Monte Banditello

Excursion with departure and arrival from Lake Gerosa where on the way back it is possible to have a third time worthy of the tour at "La Casetta di Gerosa." We ascend toward the village of Altino first on a cart track, along the Aso River, then on a carriage road, once we reach the village we continue on dirt road, which gradually becomes a path, toward the Altino Meadows until we reach the saddle of Mount Banditello at about 1,800 meters above sea level. Several fountains are encountered along the ascent so water is not a problem except in the drier seasons in case some springs dry up. Very scenic route at times exposed without major technical difficulties, only a small landslide to overcome on foot.

Once in the saddle at Monte Banditello begins a long descent on a fairly exposed path, avoid if you suffer from vertigo, then you enter the Selva Tonda forest with earth/rock bottom very enjoyable but not always very clean. Arriving at Foce di Montemonaco you return on asphalt to the starting point.
