Lecco-Versasio-Neguggio (sentiero 920)
Trail route, of medium difficulty in the woods behind Lecco. It is about fifteen kilometers to be covered in an hour or so with a total elevation gain of no more than 500 meters. Although the length is modest it is very varied and alternates stretches of asphalt with paths and forestry, the difficulties are never extreme although it does have some challenging passages but these are single passages so they do not compromise the walkability even for the less able. Ideal outing for cold winter days or for an evening workout in the warmer months.
From the upper districts of Lecco, take Corso Matteotti and then turn into Via Don L. Monza (the trail cuts through a small side street but it is also possible to turn further on). Continue uphill keeping the direction until you reach the Bonacina district where you turn left still uphill, arrived at the end of the road you turn right crossing a bridge and then you face the first section of singletrack in the woods the slight descent (be careful shortly after entering the woods there is a small bridge not cyclable especially if you have handlebars 700mm wide and more).
Back on the road, continue with a few ups and downs along via Movedo until you reach a widening, past a small staircase on the right you take a modestly uphill lane (via Capiloccio) that ends in via don G.Piatti that allows you to join the road to Versasio-Funivia per Erna. Continue uphill on asphalt in the direction of Versasio, do not turn towards the cable car forecourt but continue straight ahead always in the direction of Versasio and then take a very short path that leads onto a forest road closed to vehicular traffic. Past the signs for the cable car, turn slightly right downhill on a small road (path 920, which from now on will be followed all the way back to Lecco; up to Neguggio it is also known as the Rotary yellow/blue bolli path).
Having passed a few very bumpy stretches, at a flat section, turn left, still on a small road at times cemented that will turn into a path, Having passed 2 technically challenging jumps, near the locality Cavagiozzo, you skirt a meadow and then turn left on a path, in modest ascent but with a few technical passages, staying on the left the ascent is more fluid and cyclable. The path joins the forest road that leads to Ponte della Tenaglia, past the bridge you face a short cemented section and then turn right slightly downhill until you reach the junction for Madonna della Rovinata.
Here you turn left pushing your bike for a short distance to overcome a flight of steps (a few dozen meters), when the path becomes cyclable again you continue on some easy ups and downs that lead to the meadows just above Neguggio. Then turn right downhill on a very steep forest road with several hairpin bends that ends at Germanedo, from here downhill to the hospital and then via via Monte Grappa back to the starting point.
