Monte Carmo e Karma Trail da Finale Ligure

It is basically the same descent as this route, but with pedaled ascent from Finale Ligure. Alternatively, you can take a single ascent with Finalexpress up to the Melogno Pass and from there follow the trail up to the Giustenice yoke where the final, difficult bit begins, forcing you to push and hold your bike on your shoulders for about twenty minutesì. The reward is the amazing views offered by the summit.

Then begins the big descent, which from the Amici del Carmo hut becomes Karma trail: resurfaced in 2024 as described in this report. Finished Karma 2 scant km of slight ascent lead to Ranzi where the Hay trail begins, quite technical but nothing compared to Karma. It also offers beautiful viewpoints including the Bric 5 alberi; rejoining the Cosma and Damiano shrine, it is an easy descent to Loano via the port.
