Vesio-Caplone-Tombea-Passo della Puria

A tour through the history of Lake #garda among tunnels and war routes with two very nice descents. We will take you to the top of Mt. Tombea after passing the Caplone. Then a truly libidinous first descent back up to the Puria Pass then on a nosedive to the San Michele Valley.

We leave the car at the beginning of the San Michele Valley ( 630 meters) where you will find a convenient free parking lot. We follow the valley and after a very short downhill section, we start to climb. When we reach San Michele we will turn left and continue in the direction of Tremalzo. The gradient will be constant and we will have to look for the right cadence in this truly spectacular undergrowth. We follow the mule track being careful at about 1,300 m where we will have to keep left with indication Bocca Lorina di Lorina . We pass a gate and shortly reach the Malga di Lorina ( 1,380 m). We take a breath of fresh air and continue passing Bocca di Lorina ( 1,432 meters): here begins the really suggestive stretch of tunnels with a series of hairpin bends on the military road. We will have only a short section with reduced pedalability and near the landslide tunnel we will absolutely have to pass it by pushing the bike. Finished this section there will be a wonderful traverse that will lead us to Bocca Campei ( 1,860 m ), where if you want, climbing to the left with the bike on your back, you can reach the top of Caplone. From here we descend for another stretch of beautiful trail with a tunnel and a final tear to reach Malga Tombea ( 1,820 m ). We will have 10 to 15 minutes of pushing from this point to gain the summit of Mount Tombea at 1,946 meters. The view will be so beautiful that it will leave you speechless. Now open forks, helmet on head and protectors we will descend backwards with the first part on the suggestive ridge. When we reach the Malga Tombea we deviate to the left and shortly after to the right. Now begins the technical trail and then libidinous flow that will make us smile and take us towards Malga Casina ( 1,340 meters). We deviate at this point to the left on a slight descent and follow this other military mule track that will soon go back uphill. In fact, we need to regain altitude to reach the Puria Pass ( 1,374 meters). From the pass the games will be done and we will resume descending on another really fun trail. First freeride style then technical in the undergrowth without excessive speed, it will be our guide to return to the San Michele Valley where we take the outward dirt road again and with one last tear we return to our cars.
