Traversata monte Velino e monte Sevice

A classic crossing of the Apennines with a good physical and technical commitment. Start from the Alantino refuge, Campo Felice, crossing the Puzzillo valley to the Sebastiani refuge on a rideable dirt road, hard ramps that with good legs are all done in the saddle. From the refuge follows a shoulder-bike or push-bike section and we are at the saddle below the ridge. Pedaling and pushing on a scenic traverse over the beautiful Val di Teve, we reach Valico del Bicchero downhill. Here begins a tough section with bike on the shoulder to the saddle below Mt. Cafornia, a beautiful aerial and very exposed ridge that is done almost all in the saddle. Followed by the last 200 meters of elevation gain with bike on shoulder and we are on the Velino.

First part of the descent impassable, due to steep negative gradients and slippery bottom, small push ups and we reach the summit of Mt. Sevice. Demanding serpentine descent to the hut of the same name, still on a stony and slippery bottom. Start the descent of the Sevice valley with rocks and loose bottom, until the entrance to the forest. It softens in the second half but still challenging.
