Val Resia CAI 732-738
The first part of this route is well known. One climbs to Casera Coot by asphalt-cement road with steep sections; from the casera one climbs toward Monte Guarda; after an initial short pedalable cemented section, one continues on foot, mostly pushing, but with some shoulder sections (strenuous), to a junction where one keeps to the right in the direction of Monte Plagne. Still mostly on foot (short pedalable stretch) you reach a saddle below Plagne, from which begins a long up and down on the ridge that is very scenic and in some stretches exposed and stony; having reached Forcella Pardulina the trail enters the woods on an excellent bottom and continues up and down well pedalable until it crosses CAI 732.
A magnificent descent begins in the woods on perfect bottom (billiards) with wide curves and, at times, natural banks (very suitable for bikers who like speed) until reaching Glivaz di Sopra. Here you leave 732 for 738a, which maintains the characteristics of the previous section (along the track, less busy than the previous one, a few branches, but you manage to stay almost always in the saddle). You reach Upper Slatina, here you join 738. The trail becomes more technical, long series of very narrow and steep bends and switchbacks, until you reach the paved road. The trail starts from the locality Cerna Penc where there is good parking, however probably possible to leave the car also near the junction with the 738. A really complete trail with very scenic ridge sections, a long flow section and an end section that requires trialist skills. Route direction hourly.
