Sottochiesa - rifugio Gherardi - Piani di Artavaggio - Corno Zuccone

All-mountain tour with beautiful views and a very nice descent on a trail that is never too challenging (S2), climb at times quite challenging due to the significant gradients faced.

Departure from Sottochiesa in Valtaleggio (BG), ascent on asphalt until the hamlet of Quindicina, from here the climb becomes a cemented forestry with challenging gradients at times, until reaching the Gherardi refuge. From here starts a beautiful traverse with some even more important tears that, enjoying a breathtaking view of Mount Sodadura and the surrounding mountains, will take us to Piani di Artavaggio near the former hotel Sciatori.

Here you can decide whether to make a detour to the famous Nicola hut with its characteristic pyramid shape reminiscent of Mt. Sodadura, for a total of about 250 additional meters of elevation gain, or follow the trail, following the forest road toward Valsassina and then detouring to take the very fun descent that will bring us back to Sottochiesa, a descent almost entirely on singletrack in the woods with a rather narrow and bumpy bottom but apart from a few passages on rock never too challenging, interspersed with a few rips just to give a little "spice" to the descent.
