VAL TRAVENANZES
It's been 14 years since the last and only time I did this route, and today as then I was thrilled, the Travenanzes Valley is wonderful, rugged and wild, almost 10 km long. Unfortunately, you have to get off your bike dozens of times to pass the various natural obstacles on the trail.
This time we started from Fiames, avoiding all the Falzarego road, reaching the Col dei Bois pass by the Ghedina Lake, Baita Piè Tofana, Dibona refuge and taking the sent. 412, under the southern walls of the Tofana di Rozes, which with cyclable and not cyclable stretches, takes us to an altitude of 2170, only 160 meters from the pass, always with walking stretches.
Also for the descent we decided to try a variant, trail 401 instead of 404, which by all accounts seemed smoother and more fun than the other, still remaining a rocky, steep and sometimes bumpy trail.
At Travenanzes hut (fountain), 404 joins 401 and continues less steep and easier, with several breaks, to the end of the valley.
