Description

All-mountain e-mtb tour around the Cortina d'Ampezzo basin along the lines of the Super Panorama Freeride Mtb which we split into two days adding detours and variations. Unfortunately, the weather on the first day was not the best and compromised the views of the Cortina basin and surrounding mountains, but fortunately it rained only briefly.

We set off by taking the Faloria cable car, which gives us 900 meters of elevation gain, from the top station immediately a first variation from the Panorama Freeride that runs on the scenic footpath that skirts the ridge overlooking Cortina of Mount Faloria. The descent is at the beginning with a few short walking passages and then a few relaunches on rooty terrain with S2 difficulty, many panoramic spots then towards the valley more and more flowing. Arriving at Rio Gere we ascend by lift to the Son Forca refuge, from here we head downhill by forestry S1 along the enchanted and uninhabited Padeon valley that runs alongside the Bosco stream. Arriving at the bottom of the valley in the Ospitale area we return toward Cortina by the Boite stream, halfway back we divert uphill for 6 km to col Drusciè where at the refuge we take a well-deserved break.

From here we descend towards Cortina taking advantage of a piece of the bike park, we tried the easy Ra Strie trail still friable and immature because it has just been fixed and to follow the Killer Rabbit trail. Arriving near Cortina we went up again on the opposite side on Mount Pomagagnon for about 7 km until we crossed the Rio Gere river, past the river we skirt the west side of Mount Faloria on the rio Gere trail that crosses an ancient landslide covered by low pine and mugho trees very fascinating also here with some passages to be done on foot and with spectacular sighting of some ibexes nimbly climbing the vertical walls of the Faloria wall. We finish the fun descent via Mandres back to Cortina.
