Aletsch con discesa a Morel
From Morel we take the lift that helps us gain altitude immediately reaching the small village of Riederalp located at 1900mt where the tour begins. I recommend parking the car before Morel and making a short transfer by bike so that you do not have to pay for the cable car parking as well. From Riederalp you reach the summit of the Eggishorn with a pedaled first part and then a shoulder ride.
The first part of the descent from the summit is the same as the one done on the ascent and is very technical with some S4 and S5 passages then from elevation 2800 it continues with more cyclable passages and some nice flow sections to Marjalen Lake. From here you take the beautiful traverse from which you can see the Aletsch glacier in all its glory. The traverse is very long and will take us back above the village of Riederalp from where we take the final descent a bit vertical but very flow and fun
Warning
- We did this ride out of season on the last weekend of September and despite that we found so many people that we couldn't do the route we had originally planned as well as taking away some of the fun and wasting a lot of time, so I recommend going in late fall and during the week.
- The summit can be avoided or you can climb it by leaving your bikes at the hut.
- Park before Morel so you don't get fleeced.
